Violetta Papachristodoulou
Violetta is a London-based ceramicist working across sculptural vessels, ceramic lighting and functional tableware. Her work is inspired by nature, architecture and modernist design.Working primarily on the wheel, she makes pieces that explore texture, repetition, angles and geometric form. Many surfaces are left unglazed to reveal the raw character of the clay, echoing urban landscapes, while subtle interior glazes bring depth and contrast.
At the centre of her practice is a desire to make pieces that feel sculptural yet quietly functional, enhancing everyday spaces and rituals. Her practice is process-led, shaped by an interest in material, making and firing. She is particularly drawn to the communal nature of wood firing and Raku, and to the distinctive surfaces created through these atmospheric processes.
